Topdeck Unveils Industry First Inclusivity Policy for LGBTQIA+ Travellers

Topdeck Travel is setting a new industry standard with its pioneering LGBTQIA+ Inclusivity Policy, reaffirming its commitment to safe, welcoming, and affirming experiences for young travellers. Designed to support diverse travel needs, this initiative helps travel advisors provide inclusive options that resonate with today’s Gen Z adventurers.

A More Inclusive Booking Experience

Travellers now have the option to select ‘X’ as their passport gender during the booking process, ensuring non-binary and gender-diverse individuals feel seen and respected. Additionally, Topdeck has introduced mixed-room accommodation options across its four trip styles, moving beyond traditional gendered allocations to create a more inclusive and comfortable experience for all.

Supporting Travellers at Every Step

With a focus on fostering a respectful and welcoming environment, Topdeck encourages all travellers to share relevant information that can assist its Customer Service team in creating a safe and supportive journey. This initiative is backed by in-depth research, including focus groups with young travellers, Trip Leaders, and internal team members.

Australian LGBTQIA+ youth organisation Minus18 played a key role in training and educating Topdeck’s office staff and on-the-road teams, ensuring everyone is equipped to implement the policy with confidence, understanding, and the right terminology.

Leading the Charge in Youth Travel

Anna Fawcett, General Manager APAC at Topdeck Travel, emphasized the brand’s long-standing commitment to inclusivity.

“Topdeck has always championed authenticity, encouraging our travellers to be themselves. This new policy solidifies our dedication to ensuring every young traveller feels safe, valued, and supported—whether they’re booking a trip, seeing themselves in our marketing, or setting off on an adventure with like-minded people,” she said.

The update aligns with Topdeck’s vision of social group travel, empowering young adventurers to connect with new cultures, forge lasting friendships, and travel without fear of judgment.

With 2025-26 Delve Deep and Sail & Swim trips now on sale, there’s never been a better time for young travellers to embark on an unforgettable, inclusive journey.
