Stricter Penalties for Visa Overstays & Violations
Overstaying a visa or violating immigration laws can now result in severe penalties, including 20 years to life in prison for serious offences.
Fines and deportation remain in place for minor infractions.
Enhanced Immigration Enforcement
Increased immigration checkpoint officers, patrol officers, and task forces monitoring compliance.
More frequent random checks on visas and tourist activities.
Potential Long-Term Entry Bans
Violating visa rules or local laws could result in a ban from re-entering Indonesia for 10 years to life, depending on the severity of the offence.
Visa Requirements for Australian Travellers
Visa on Arrival (VoA)
Cost: IDR 500,000 (approx. AUD 50).
Valid for 30 days, with a one-time extension for another 30 days.
Obtainable upon arrival at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport or via e-VoA online before departure.
Tourist Visa (B211A)
Required for stays longer than 60 days.
Must be applied for in advance via an Indonesian embassy or agent.
